NASA to announce winners of new ISS cargo contracts

NASA plans to announce the winners of a new set of resupply contracts to deliver cargo to the International Space Station at 4 p.m. EST (2100 GMT) in a press conference at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

SpaceX and Orbital ATK are the incumbent commercial cargo transport providers, with the companies on the hook for 15 and 10 missions through 2018, respectively.

The next round of Commercial Resupply Services, or CRS, contracts will cover the space station’s supply needs through the early 2020s.
