Soyuz TMA-15M prepares for launch

The Soyuz rocket rolled out of it assembly building as it made it’s way to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for Sunday’s liftoff.

The three-person crew, led by Soyuz commander Anton Shkaplerov, European Space Agency astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, a native of Milan, Italy and astronaut Terry Virts, Veteran shuttle pilot readied themselves for the trip to the ISS.

Liftoff is at 2101 GMT (4:01 p.m. EST) Sunday, when the ISS flies above Baiknour, this will allow the spacecraft to complete a fast automated rendezvous and dock within six hours after launch.

Russian engineers have positioned the rocket vertically on top of the launch pad, as the technicians do their final preflight checklist.
